Robert Devine R.N.

Robert Devine received his license as a Registered Nurse in 1976 after graduating from Youngstown State University. He received his certification as a cardiovascular perfusionist from Loyola University of Chicago in 1980 and his Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University in 1987.

As a registered nurse, Robert has worked in a variety of hospital settings including the Intensive Care Unit, Operating room as well as medical surgical units. While working within the many arenas of the health system, Robert observed the increasing need for better home health care services for clients being discharged from hospitals and nursing homes and also for our community elders who wish to remain in their homes as long as possible.

Recognizing the need for reliable, professional in home services, Robert founded CareGivers Plus Home Health Care in 1994. The agency became licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and Medicare certified in 1996. Mr. Devine’s philosophy is to operate a health care organization which strives to treat our clients with compassion and dignity and to provide a broad spectrum of in-home care that are designed to keep our clients living safely and comfortably in their homes for as long as possible.

Margie Dog

Office Caregiver

As part of our 25th year celebration Margie Dog is joined us in the office as an emotional support dog. She is a young Labradoodle who is super friendly. She loves greeting employees and clients here in the office. She offers a soft touch and comfort to our employees and visitors when they need it during the day, as being a caregiver can be emotionally challenging. She is very therapeutic for those tough days. She is up to date on all vaccines too. For those of you who are native to the Valley, you may recognize her name. Marge Burgeson is Mari Lynn Devine’s mother. She is well known in the area for her creation “The Margie Dog” at Basilones. As a family company, we are continuing the tradition of “keeping it in the family” with the addition of our very own Margie Dog. Though the original Marge left us too soon in 1999, Margie Dog will try to live up to her legacy of love.

What Makes CareGives Plus the "Plus" in Home Care in the Valley?

  • When the Devines started our agency in 1994. we were the first independent home health agency in the Mercer County. At that time Robert Devine, a Registered Nurse, worked at a local hospital and saw a need for long term home care in the community.  We are now the longest operating home care agency in the Valley. We are not a franchise. The Devines are local natives and residents who oversee our daily operations and have for 27 years. In this small town that makes many of our clients and employees their friends, neighbors, and schoolmates.
  • We began using Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) in 2011. At that time we were the first in the Valley. EVV is also known as "Telephony". This allows our caregivers to "clock in" and "clock out" upon arrival and departure from each client's visit. This way we know they are on site at the client's home and exactly when they arrive and depart.
  • We are working toward becoming as "Green" as can be. Through EVV and E-task entry and other techno-logic updates we are reducing paper waste.  Our schedule coordinator conscientiously creates employee and client schedules in a way that minimizes employee travel time thereby reducing drive time emissions and giving and saving employees gas.
  • We do not use an answering service. Any time you call our office, you are speaking to an office team member, even after hours. If you leave us a voicemail it is coming directly to an office team member who can assist you right away.
